Even if the majority of the world is at peace, there are still many countries those are facing global societal issue on various aspects. The topic of pollution has been narrowed down as it involves various negative impacts on the world that has drastic consequences and ill effects. One of the greatest problems is environmental pollution which is hampering the natural existence of the ecosystem as well as the environment. This is a societal issue as it is caused by human interference which has led to irreparable damage to society.
Effective methods were used in selecting the topic so that it will have a definite future scope. Pollution has detrimental consequences on society and as it is an uprising global issue; there are various areas on which the research can be focused upon. Pollution poses negative effects on the environment and the ecosystem in particular. These varying issues helped me identifying and narrowing down this particular topic and gather detailed information from scholarly articles.
Scholarly sources can be critically analyzed in various significant ways. It must have works cited and more citations should be present for each resource. Providence of Author's credentials is much authentic, for determining the scholarly source to take into account. The topic discussed is treated without any prejudice and in an unbiased way, and is well informed is also another way to critically analyze the scholarly source.
Erdem et al. (1997) claimed that pollution is mainly caused by human indulgence with the environment. This further leads to changes in the socio-economic system of human life. Shawna et al. (2020) opposed that and stated pollution is not only caused by human indulgence but is also a way nature responds to natural calamities. Nature's reaction to the organic compounds and suspended soil in arid regions is a signal that pollution is slowly destroying the environment which might lead to ozone depletion.
From the viewpoint of Erdem et al. (1997), various forest products are also creating land and soil pollution where there is a nominal indulgence of humans. Shawna et al. (2020) opined that, pollution is solely self-created by the industrial sectors, which was opposed by those who argued that, the industry is the upgraded channel of the human economy, where people work to earn their living. Thus only the industrial or tertiary sectors are not the sole reason for pollution in the world. Pollution has not only negative impacts on the environment, but it hampers the social life of humans, the terrestrial and marine ecosystem as well. It is also one of the major reasons for world climatic change.
Scholarly sources provide a definite level of authenticity as well as credibility to the researcher on the particular topic. Verifiable documents used by the researcher will help him to create a justifiable ground on the genuineness of the data and information collected. Moreover, comparing different scholarly sources will help in finding out the strength and weaknesses of the claims that the researcher will make.
