The Parasite movie is about Kim's family. The family is living in a semi-basement and are unable to afford basic things like food. They search for odd jobs to get money, such as folding pizza boxes. They also do rely on Wi-Fi networks. In order to keep their home free from insects, they use street-cleaning pesticides. Kim's son, KI-woo, is awarded a suseok or scholars' stone by a friend and is recommended for a teaching job in a wealthy family. The siblings Ki-woo and Ki Jung, his sister, make fake credentials for the job. Therefore, they begin the adventure that sees every Kim family member infiltrating the upper-class one-by-one.
