Employable Me is an exceptional documentary that not only opens one’s mind but also the heart. This is more so because it focuses on the individual rather than the condition they are going through. The first episode focuses on the struggles of Becca and Riley who have Tourette syndrome and Asperger’s syndrome respectively (TVO, 2018). It is eye opening and one gets to understand that it is very much harder to get a job when you are disabled. In fact, according to a 2014 study, the employment rate in Canada for disabled individuals aged between 25 and 64 is 49% compared to79% of those that are not disabled (Turcotte, 2014). Through the episode, one gathers that disabled people go through much trouble to find employment.
