Forrest Gump
Forrest Gump is a movie with a lead character of the same name. The movie begins with a young Gump sitting on a bench, from which he begins to narrate his story. His story begins in the countryside, where he grew up. Here, he develops a special relationship with a girl from his home town named Jenny. However, Gump has a curved spine, which makes walking difficult. He is, therefore, fitted with leg braces to aid his movement. Due to his disability, Gump is often bullied by his peers. This goes on until one day when, with Jenny’s support, he manages to run away so fast that his braces come off and he gains the ability to walk naturally. Despite this, Gump still has a low IQ. Hence, he displays odd behavior. When Gump finishes college, he decides to join the military. But his superiors find him odd, and hard to bear. After being discharged from the military, he is reunited with his childhood sweetheart, Jenny who has been living as a hippie. After a short reunion, they go their separate ways again. However, Jenny finally comes back home where Gump has been since his mother died of cancer. Gump proposes to her, and they end up making love. Jenny, however, breaks Gump’s heart by leaving the next morning. This sends Gump on an unending cross-country marathon. As Gump sits on the bench from which he has been narrating his story, he discloses that he has just received a letter from Jenny. When they reunite again, she introduces him to their son, Forrest Gump jr. Jenny and Gump get married but Jenny dies a year later. The film ends as Gump sees off his son on his first day of school.
