Write a 700 to 800-word analysis of one film from this module. You must incorporate at least one reading from this module. Your response should demonstrate your understanding of the reading and the film, including its historical significance. Do not simply summarize the film. Rather, discuss how that film has contributed to the aesthetic and/or technical innovations in film history. Also, consider how each film reflects and influences its socio-political context. You must use proper citations for all sources in your response. Below are some questions to serve as prompts for reflection. You do not have to address all of these questions in your response.

A Trip to the Moon
A trip to the moon is a theatrical 1902 film by Georges Méliès. The movie follows a group of astronomers who travel to the moon using a cannon-propelled capsule. Essentially, they explore the moon’s surface and escape a villain selenite; an underground group. Finally, they escape and return to the earth with a captive Selenite. The movie begins at an astronomy meeting where Professor Barbenfouillis proposes a trip to the moon. After the proposal, five astronomers agree with his idea and takes the daring planning process for an expedition to the moon. They take the expedition and safely land on the moon.
The journey to the moon appears to be exhausting and once they are on the moon, they admire the earth and sleep. While sleeping, a huge comet appears with creatures that resemble human faces. The goddess of the moon, Phoebe awakens the astronomers where they seek shelter in a cavern in which they discover a giant mushroom ( Film Nerd, 2021). Further, a selenite appears which is quickly killed by the astronomers. However, more selenite appears and surrounds the astronomers. At this point, the astronomers are captured and taken to their palace. In an attempt to save themselves, an astronomer lifts the Selenite’s king and throws him to the ground where he explodes. The astronomers manage to escape from the palace. In a difficult fight, the astronomers get to the earth's surface using their capsule. They land on the sea with a captive Selenite. Upon landing, a celebratory mood is detected and the astronomers celebrate a dream come true of the trip to the moon.
