Metaphors in Maya Deren's Film Meshes of the Afternoon
Movie Review Instructions:
Analyze Maya Deren's film Meshes of the Afternoon (1943). Remember that you're simply observing the film, which may seem strangely non-linear ("having no narrative" or "a cryptic narrative"). Focus on metaphors. You can always observe shapes, lines, colors (here, black and white are colors with temperatures and weights) -- or the rhythms of the film's edit. Do not fear ambiguities and contradictions
