HRIS stands for human resource information systems. An HRIS refers to a system used to acquire, store, manipulate, analyze, retrieve, and distribute information about the resources in an organization to support managerial and human resource management (HRM) decisions (Kavanagh et al., 2015). When it comes to electronic human resource management (eHRM), technology takes the center of human resource processes. As noted by Kavanagh et al. (2015), eHRM utilizes information technology, and specifically the Web, to deliver effective and efficient human resource services. In this sense, therefore, there exist some differences between HRIS and eHRM. While eHRM is considered a way of conducting human resources, HRIS is the technology that facilitates eHRM.
