Moses and Jesus Christ are the most prominent characters in the Bible when talking about sanctity. The discussion of holiness and sin assist in identifying the right approaches to follow in living a life that is pleasing God. Exodus and Matthew are books in the scripture that provide an individual with crucial details on cleansing from sin. Exodus 29 provides details about Aaron and other priesthoods of Israel on dealing with sin. Blood sacrifice was used by the Israelites to make the sin cleansed and live a godly life. The slaughtering of a ram as blood sacrifice made it possible for a person to be forgiven sin. The passage of sin and sanctity in Exodus was done through the blood sacrifice of a ram to the priesthood in Israel. Matthew 5:21-24 notion on sanctity and sin focus on practical holiness by first reconciling with a brother before taking a gift to the altar (Donovan, 2020). A person should seek forgiveness from the individual wronged and later bring the gift to the altar. Bringing a gift without reconciling with the brother makes the gift unworthy in achieving full holiness. Matthew 5 is teachings from Jesus Christ focusing on following the original commandments on Exodus and extending the act of holiness through good thoughts, feelings, and actions (Donovan, 2020). Jesus Christ challenges people with evil thoughts and feelings that a gift to the altar will not help in achieving sanctity.
