The immigration regime has resulted in new developments where immigrant workers are in a vulnerable position and are easily exploited by their employers. Muñoz (2008) reveals the undocumented immigrants who are working in the California agricultural industry, and also other low wage immigrant industries in the US, are managed by a despotic control even though the citizens working in the same locations are managed based on hegemonic control.
