How to Write a Good Essay

A good writer needs to ensure that the paper has several characteristics to be useful and appealing to the reading. Stonehouse suggests that in the introduction, "state what you are going to do in the order that you have discussed it within the main body" (293). It sets the paper for the rest of the essay. The body paragraphs are also an essential part of an essay. A typical paper needs to have a minimum of two or three paragraphs, with each one having a minimum of five sentences. Each paragraph needs to have a topic sentence, examples, and explanations for the reader. There are different types of essays, and each one requires a specific number and type of paragraphs. For instance, an argumentative essay will require several paragraphs that include the argument's pros and cons. The content in the paragraph depends on the topic and thesis statement.
Each paragraph has to follow a specific format and length. In a typical essay, the paragraphs need to have the same length.
