After completing the readings for this week, there were two topics that specifically peaked my interest and had me very surprised. The first topic being about how it was the clock that was key during early industrialization. For the longest time, I was blindly under the impression that it was the invention of the wheel that was an integral part to society as we know it. Learning about how the clock dictated life in terms of time to go to sleep and fashion was extremely intriguing to me and I would have never thought that the invention of the clock was such a pivotal point in our society. The second topic that stood out to me was how important wood was. Learning about all the different ways wood could be utilized and how it was better than stone definitely changed my way of thinking.
