The gap between the poor and the rich is widening across the world. This leads to social inequality as the rich continue accumulating more and the poor continue starving (MacFate, 1995). These economic differences create differences socially separating the rich from the poor. Various theories have been formulated some in support of socialism and others in support of capitalism.
