Final Reflection Essay ‘Having a Great Life’
In writing this final reflection essay, I chose to have a great life as the topic I intend to explore and discuss. Demonstrating how philosophy contributes to my goal of having a great life will be the primary in this essay. The success of humans stems from their interaction with others and ability to do the right thing regardless of whether one is supervising them or not. My enrolment in this course is influential since it has contributed to a comprehensive understanding of what philosophy entails and what to do to achieve a prosperous lifestyle. I resonate that philosophy plays a critical role in determining whether a person will have a good life or not.
Research illustrates that people who pay close attention to philosophical teachings from scholars such as Aristotle, Socrates, and Plato, are more likely to have productive lives than those who do not emphasize them. In this case, applying philosophical teachings will facilitate attaining a great life. Plato and Aristotle deem that a good life refers to the state in which a person exhibits total virtue. Based on this premise, I resonate that I can achieve a good life if I demonstrate total virtue. Some of the three virtues I intend to exhibit in my quest to live a prodigious life include faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
The presence of philosophical readings today plays a critical role in human lives. Researchers aver that philosophical lessons educate people on how to co-exist with others and subsequently steer them from evil. Therefore, to ensure that I achieve my coveted goal, I intend to use various philosophical materials from our class. Some of the philosophical ideas that will apply include understanding myself, establishing solid principles, Socratic discussions, and participating in regular proactive training. I resonate that consolidating the four techniques will be influential since it will steer me towards having a great life.
