The ancient world can be best understood through the study and analysis of some of the earliest civilizations known today. Ancient Egypt is one of the leading ancient civilizations studied today, having lasted for close to 30 centuries, dating back to 3100 BC until the time it was conquered by Alexander the Great in 332 BC. Despite its fall under the beleaguer of Alexander the Great, ancient Egpyt remains to be of significant importance as one of the leading ancient civilizations, especially in the Meditterenian world. There are several practices, customs, items that are in existence in the modern world that would not have been witnessed were it not for the ancient Egyptians. These practices, customs, and items have helped shape the lives of the modern world in several different ways. The construction of one of the most iconic features in the history of the world, the pyramids, the development of hieroglyphics writing and the linear system, and basic inventions that remain prevalent today have been the greatest achievements of the ancient Egyptians.[Ian Worthington, Alexander the Great: Man and God (Routledge, 2014).]
The building of the Great Pyramids is not only the greatest legacy of the ancient Egyptians, but it also inspired to a great extent, modern architecture. The design and construction of the great Egyptian pyramids remain to be the fascinating ancient architectures, alongside other architectural designs of the tombs, mummies, and sarcophagi that fill the modern-day museums. The ancient Egyptian architectures left a mark for generations to come, and ensuring the recognition of their existence remains as long as it takes. The modern-day communication methods, most significantly through writing, are directly attributed to the hieroglyphic language that is believed to have originated from Egypt in 3100 B.C.
