Many people enjoy sitting and watching other people. As a budding psychologist you should know that this is how psychologists often determine what they would like to study in greater depth.
For this assignment you will go out into a space where people are congregating and observe them for about 30 minutes. This type of research is called naturalistic observation. The goal of naturalistic observation is that you watch a naturally occurring behavior and not influence it in any way. People who know they are being watched may not act naturally.
Bring a pad of paper along with you and take notes about the things that you find interesting. Try to be unobtrusive.
Choose one particular behavior to focus on. Make sure that you focus on one behavior, and take notes on that behavior.
Watch several people participating in the EXACT SAME BEHAVIOR.
Try to be objective in your notes. Note the behavior without any interpretation.
In your assignment you should:
Discuss the location of your observation.
Describe the behavior that you observed.
Describe the type and number of people that you observed performing that behavior.
Once you have completed your observation, form a theory about human behavior based on the observations you made. Make a specific theory about human behavior based to the naturalistic observation.
Report in depth on the similarities and differences in people’s behaviors.

Human nature is a very intriguing aspect that both men and women in society are culprits in one way or another. Different behavioral acts are observed in different humans, according to the congregation or setting.
