Leadership is one of the most discussed topics since leader plays a substantial role in shaping the running of the world. in most cases, people have the duty of electing the leader that they consider to be fit for office. Various theories have been put forward regarding the issue of leadership and the strategies used by such leaders to run the organizations. Besides, a leader has to possess certain traits for them to be able to lead the followers. Therefore, this paper will focus on the ways through which leaders can mentor and build trust to bring a positive impact on their organizations.
Leaders act as an example to the followers, and therefore, building trust would make it easy for them to control the functioning of the organization. Followers need to be assured that they can trust their leaders to make the best decisions for their organizations. The best way to achieve such trust is for the leaders to express honesty and openness in every activity that involves the organization. For instance, a leader can choose to involve some of the followers in the decision-making process. Such would guarantee the people that the leader has their interests at heart. Having a part of the organization take part in the decision-making process ensures the creation of achievable objectives. The members of an organization have a better understanding of all that is required to achieve such goals. Hence, they will be able to convince the leader to make the best fit goals for the organization. A leader ought to create a trust for them to bring a positive impact on the organization.
Among the tenets of leadership is passing knowledge to other people. Leaders are also required to pass their experience to others. Given that a leader cannot remain in office forever, then it is up to them to bring a positive impact on the organization through mentorship (Judge, Timothy and Stephen 2017).
