Top of Form

Respond to the following in a minimum of 175 words in MLA format (don’t forget to cite the examples):

The hero’s quest or journey is an essential component of many narratives, not just fairy tales. It is key to discussing personal growth and character development. Sometimes, the hero’s quest is an unconscious cycle and the character is not aware of it while they are in the process of completing the journey.

  • Must every fairy tale (or any narrative, for that matter) have a hero’s quest? Does the hero or heroine have to overcome challenges for the tale to impart wisdom? Provide examples to explain why or why not.

  • Is there ever a time that the hero’s quest is negative? If not, why is a hero’s quest always a positive cycle? Provide examples to support your opinion either way.
