The theater of Spain has a very meticulous attention to detail and aesthetique. However, almost all of its theater is dominated with religious themes and grand stories. The society saw theater as a social opportunity to indoctrinate the masses with societal and cultural values.
During this time, the role of women was submissive and followed a traditional route. Most women were dominated by their male counterparts and there is emphasis on the importance of marriage.
