Technology Addiction
The rapid advancement of technology has significantly contributed to addiction. Currently, many children cannot stay for a few hours without using their smartphones, computers, tablets, television, and video game consoles. In particular, young people prefer to use electronic devices instead of going outside to play with others. They have become addicted to technology since no one is concerned about the number of hours they use on these technological gadgets. In that light, the problem of technology addiction begins at home. Parents should limit their children from using electronic devices to eliminate technology addiction.
Since technology addiction mostly begins at home, parents should regulate their children’s usage of electronic devices. Young people should not be left on their own to use electronic gadgets for numerous hours while at home. Although many of these children have been used to technological devices, they should spend time engaging in other activities, such as playing in the park. The majority of young individuals have neglected physical activities, such as jogging, playing, running, and cycling; hence, they become technology addicts. Teenagers prefer to stay indoors behind closed doors while surfing the Internet and chatting with their virtual friends. Instead of meeting their friends physically, they are more interested in talking with people they met online. Others stay for many hours without moving when playing video games. The habit of using electronic devices for an extended period significantly contributes to technology addiction. Overall, if parents can control their children’s usage of electronic devices, young people are likely to engage in other physical activities, contributing to their mental and physical wellbeing. 
Children should never be allowed to stay with electronic devices, such as tablets, laptops, smartphones, computers, and video game consoles, without close supervision by their parents to avoid using them for a long period. Although young people should be permitted to use technological gadgets, they should not be allowed to remain with them. In other words, parents should use electronic devices as a way to motivate their children to do other things. For example, a parent can implement a policy where a child should use a specific electronic gadget for one hour before sleeping after completing homework. That way, children will be motivated to engage in crucial activities without using technologi...
