Social media refers to a group of electronic applications and websites designed on the hi-tech and ideological foundations that enable its users to communicate effectively within different geographical locations by creating and sharing content. Social media comprises numerous advantages to its users, such that it allows one to reach, engage and nurture with his or her target audience no matter their location. For instance, several platforms such as businesses can use it to connect with their target audience or generate brand awareness, resulting in revenue and sales. The paper tends to explore all features of social media with its negative and positive effects in contemporary universities like Harvard and answer the following question. 
Do You Feel That Schools Like Harvard University And Others Have The Right To Rescind Acceptance Offers, Monitor, And Punish Students For Online Postings?
Based on the article and video provided, I believe that Harvard and others universities have a right to retract acceptance offers and monitor and discipline students for online postings. Due to security and safety reasons, the schools should develop strategies that monitor students' activity through tracking mentions of keywords related to cyberbullying on students' public social media accounts or suicide threats (Aitchison, & Meckled-Garcia, 2021). Moreover, monitoring the students' activity, like checking the posts that their fellow students share online on social media and other online platforms on the internet, tends to enable schools to save lives or prevent devastating situations from happening. One of the primary reasons for monitoring and student activity is to ensure that all students and staff are safe. 
 Most of the best colleges do not only rescind the acceptance offer but also monitor their online post then evaluate whether it is an inappropriate social media post. The review of the students before stepping on campus is based not only on admitting students for classrooms but also on admitting students as part of society (Joseph, 2017). Therefore, when the colleges monitor the students' accounts, they will be able to highlight particular abilities and additional information regarding the students before the admissions. For instance, from the video provided, Harvard University applied the monitoring policy. It rescinded at least ten incoming students who had reportedly posted sexually explicit, violence, and racist content in a Facebook group.
