Second Essay- Cristina Garcia's Dreaming in Cuban
In the novel Dreaming in Cuban, Christina Garcia narrates a story of a Cuban family as they live during the era of the Cuban Revolution. The book covers three generations of Del Pino's family, and in each generation, all the characters have unique personalities and divergent views on politics and relation. The family appears to disagree on various issues related to their stand on politics, religion, and the actual physical distance of its members. Due to these divergent political views and religious beliefs, the family appears to be split. Christina uses their interactions, actions, and feelings to show the extent of their oppositions on these matters. Furthermore, their memories and experiences are central to their splitting.
