-Secondary Sources: The literary criticism found in the Literary Reference Center in GALILEO is the secondary source. You may use more than four secondary sources. 4 secondary sources is the minimum required for this assignment.
- Use MLA FORMAT (Times New Roman 12; double spaced; 1 inch margins; headnote; MLA pagination with last name page number inserted using header function, in text citation, Works Cited page, etc.).
- You must use quotations from the literature selection you are analyzing AND quotations and paraphrases from the four secondary sources. Use correct in-text citation formatting. Analytical Essay of “Saboteur” by Ha Jin
Ha Jin’s “Saboteur” is a short story that showcases the struggle between the Chinese citizens and the government of China at the height of communism. While it is not explained why the police officer acted that irrationally, the incident marks the onset of a series of events that demonstrate the relationship between the communist government and the citizens at the time. This paper argues that “Saboteur” is in part a real-life demonstration of the author’s (Ha Jin), fight to eliminate corruption among Chinese government officials.
