Essay: Ronald Reagan as the Best President Born in February 1911, Ronald Wilson Reagan was an American actor and politician who gained fame due to his serves as the 40th President of America from 1981 to 1989. Before becoming the president, Ronald used to work in Hollywood; from 1967 to 1975, Reagan served as the 33rd Governor of California and rose to limelight in no time. He was born and raised in a poor family of northern Illinois. In 1932, he completed his graduation from Eureka College and started working as a sports announcer. In 1937, Ronald joined Hollywood and was starred in a few movies. He briefly worked as a union leader and worked for the betterment of his companions and friends. Amazingly, Ronald got the chance to become President of the Screen Actors Guild several times —the labor union for celebrities — where he worked really hard to root out the Communist influence. In 1950, he joined the television industry and briefly worked as the motivational speaker at the General Electric factories. Ronald was nothing more than a democrat until 1962 when he decided to become a conservative and switched to the Republican Party for this purpose. He is widely known for his speech (A Time for Choosing), which earned Ronald Reagan national and international attention and was supported by the Barry Goldwater's presidential campaigns. Was Ronald Reagan the greatest president of the 20th century? Certainly he was, and there are a lot of examples to prove it (Gray 2015). No presidents of the 19th and 20th centuries had more enduring and positive influence than Reagan. From Wilson to FSR, all presidents were limited to their own states and left negative impacts on the minds of people in one way or the other.
