XPO logistics recently landed a highway-shipping contract with the United States Postal Service (USPS) (Gandel). The contract, which is worth $5 million, will see XPO Logistics establish a postal route between Virginia and Indiana. The contract is assigned to XPO by USPS for the former to move mail in between the aforementioned cities for 18 months. By the end of August, contract negotiations had been concluded before a disclosure was made earlier this month. The USPS will pay XPO $3.3 million every year to manage the postal route of an estimated 700 miles (Gandel).
