Reflection: The LGBT Community
The LGBT community has become a significant player in the social and political arena. Over the years, sexual rights activists and members of the LGBT community have campaigned against their discrimination. Although it took some time for LGBT individuals to be recognized, today, they are close to their objective. This paper is a reflection of two articles focusing on developments in the queer community.
In his article, Rafael De La Dehesa explores the similarities and differences among queer community players in Brazil and Mexico (De la Dehesa 2010). Through a thorough examination, De La Dehesa can find that there are significant similarities and some differences. The author also notes that the LGBT community in the two countries has developed into a significant political power (De la Dehesa 2010).
