Reflection of the Trip
My trip to San Francisco and Silicon Valley was fascinating. I was amazed to find out how people in Silicon Valley are friendly, innovative, and creative. Before visiting the place, I thought that technology experts were so busy, boring and that they did not have time to interact with visitors. My emotions were struck when I visited Kiva and realized that approximately 50% of the global population live below $2 a day. I did not know that such a significant percentage of the global population lived in poverty and that they were unable to afford all their necessities such as food and shelter.
I was disappointed by realizing that while Silicon Valley is busy coming up with new technologies and innovations, some people in various parts of the world do not have enough food. In other words, these individuals cannot enjoy various software and hardware coming from Silicon Valley. Moreover, I was disappointed by not realizing how the blockchain technology has led to the development of valuable currencies. For instance, FinTech School used it to come up with Stablecoins.
The majority of the professionals I met in FinTech School, Twitter, Kiva, Cisco, SkyDeck, ConvertClick Digital Analytics, and Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center were very friendly and social. Besides, I expected them to be busy and that they dislike visitors. On the contrary, I realized that they were welcoming and very interactive. For instance, some employees of Twitter shared with us the information on how the company generated its revenues from advertisements.
