The 2008 American election was among the most followed process across the world. Every person from each corner of the world eagerly waited for the results. I was a young child interested in the elections proceeding despite not being eligible to vote. During Election Day, I accompanied my parents to the polling station and waited at the car as they moved with the voting process. My entire family supported john McCain while I wished Barrack Obama could emerge the winner. I wanted a historical moment in the United States where we could have the first African American president and prove that the United States is a democratic country. The paper denotes why November 4, 2008, was the best day of my life, the day America got the first African American president.
After the voting process was complete, I could not take my eyes away from the television as the presidential results were streaming from multiple states. My dad decided to bet with me and promised me a new bicycle and a one-week vacation if my candidate won the election. The promise gave me additional reasons to pray for Barrack Obama's victory in addition to the historic act of America electing the first African American president. My strong support for Obama originated from his history, which was a great motivation. He was born in 1961 in Hawaii.
