Name : Course Name : Instructor’s Name : Date of Submission : The main point of Flannery O'Connor's short story ‘Parker’s back’ is a story that is full of biblical fantasies (serves to show us how he was a failure spiritually) which show a man that is full determined to follow God but his family collapses. Parker is a person who is not interested the things of God but her wife is so good hoping he will change. He hopes and wishes to leave the wife but finds it hard for him. Not only that he waits to leave the wife but he feels unsatisfied with the spiritual experience. Again, at the end when he does experience Gods power his wife frees him. Parker notices a man who had tattoos and they inspire him much. The man’s tattoo was of floors and breast and very pleasing to him. This basically represented the Eden that parker could not have. This makes parker to hate himself since he cannot experience what he experienced the first time he saw those tattoos.
