Moonlight Film Analysis
Understanding the relationship between a story’s character development and external environment/setting of the story is important for any reader. It allows, not only an appreciation of the dynamics between one’s character development and the environment, but also a deeper understanding of the author’s mindset and experiences while writing it. In the 2016 film entitled Moonlight, this development influenced by one’s external environment could be seen in Chiron’s growth and character change from Little, to Chiron, and to Black throughout the story. Accordingly, I believe that these representations show, not only the forces that develop the characters of teenagers in the United States, but also a reflection of the circumstances present in the society.
