We can now easily connect with old friends, keep in touch with people across the world, and even form relationships with people we may never meet face-to-face. Is the increasing use of social media leading to more enhanced, meaningful connections than ever before, or is it detrimental to people's relationships with one another? The millennial perceptions in various issues like work, relationships, and society are changing the world to a better place. The involvement is also bound to benefit future generations since they will follow similar adoptions in attaining various achievements like success in education. For example, the population does and will not have to spend a lot of time reading different books to acquire information but will use the Web and internet to access the desired information at a glimpse. Although the millennial perception has helped in promoting the world into a better place through improvement in social interactions, the access of information, and the development of effective theoretical frameworks in human resources, it may lead to shortcomings to like dependency on social media and laziness.
Although most people may think technology is taking over not only on the American Millennial generation but also on the world, the aspect is helping people to keep pace with their routines, resulting in efficiency and evade of lateness in day to day executions. For instance, University students in the millennial generation cannot wake up without their alarm clocks. They have to use their smartphones to monitor their sleeping habits and patterns by waking them at all the set times (Gonzalez, 50). What would have become of the population if they did not have the devices? The phones do not only help them manage time but also do things that would probably not be able to accomplish. “For example, mobile banking allows you to transfer between your accounts instantly" (Gonzalez, 51). In this case, the individuals carrying out the transactions do not have to visit the distinct banks for successful and timely transactions. In addition, the process saves on time and the ecstasy of waiting to access a teller and receive the anticipated services. Also, technology makes the execution of various tasks like learning easy since the students can access all the required information on the internet, improving comfortability in the learning process (Gonzalez, 51). The success of the millennial generation will encourage future generations to work hard and attain similar achievements as well.
Social media helps in interaction, as the millennials from various parts of the globe can communicate easily without having to meet. According to Thompson 56, the use of social media platforms like Facebook grants teens the opportunity to keep in touch through a safer means of interaction. History shows that young people living in the 1980s had the chance to move to various places and interact with their mates. As time went by to the heaves of the 1990s, the demographic was threatened by a series of conspicuous happenings like kidnapping and threatening of the abducted teenagers (Thompson, 56). Consequently, parents limited the movements and interactions of their children to protect them from such dangers and enhance their safety.
