Schools and Marriage as Societal Institutions
Both texts "Against School" by John Taylor Gatto and "Against Love" by Laura Kipnis evaluate the exploitative nature of societal systems. The central argument in Gatto's work is that the current education system is restrictive and characterized by a compliant, silencing force that is practiced among the learning system (Gatto 34). Kipnis' work majors on love and marriage as a social institution that has been repressive and unnatural for our minds and draws strong parallels between the home and workplace ‘slavery’ (Kipnis 2). This essay analyses the connection between the two texts in terms of our current social institutions. Schools and marriages, as societal institutions, are exercising strategies that suppress creativity and several other aspects that have turned uninspiring for the involved and society. 
Poor Innovation
Kipnis' polemic "Against Love" see marriage as an institution flooded with a lack of creativity comparable to most of the modern workplaces. The society has inherited social standards that have been in implementation for years, and the belief than there can be other ways to love a person seems absurd and controversial (Kipnis 7). Changing this aspect is termed an individual failure, and ways of satisfying emotional needs in marriage seem illegitimate in this era. The same reduced creativity is apparent in the school systems in America or other parts of the world. Gatto argues that pure creativity has become obsolete as it does not enhance methods to achieve excellent grades, and everyone is busy trying to meet the teacher's expectations in time (Gatto 33). How can this be improved? Learning should be a two-sided commitment that should allow freedom in both parties to ensure significant investment in emotions and resources that innovation depends on. The authorities involved should minimize pressure to realize creativity. 
Subjugation
Love and education/schools are relatable as some perpetual authoritative aspects or figures dictate the strategies in these institutions. Kipnis' work portrays human beings as quickly conforming characters that live under the authoritarianism and all-controlling force of their love partners. The dictatorship behavior is the reason most marriages end due to unhappiness. Confining happiness that a partner can attain on their own is comparable to subjugation. Loving another person should be a source of joy and making it a priority or their personal needs should improve the love life (Kipnis 2).
