Speech presentation is a challenging task, particularly for people who have less experience speaking in front of an audience. This requires effort from researching facts about the topic to practicing delivery, including the tone, diction, and body language of the speaker. Furthermore, this process permits an individual to constantly assess the audience’s reaction toward the subject and a consistent adjustment of the speaker’s voice and action depending on their response. Incorporating the theories with one’s experience is the most effective way to become an excellent speaker.
The styles of various speech presentations depend on the audience and the topic. The process begins with choosing the topic, researching, writing the topic based on the audience, practicing the delivery, and delivering. From a personal perspective, the most critical processes are the first and the last steps because the former entices the audience while the latter will ensure that the audience’s interest will not diminish throughout the delivery. On the other hand, researching and writing require patience and a deep understanding of the topic because this will help in writing an exciting speech that has validated facts and reliable statements. Lastly, practicing and the delivery requires determination and acceptance of feedback from the audience.
As a speaker, the most challenging part of delivering a speech catches the audience’s attention during the introduction. Initially, this was my weakness because I could not fathom which tone I needed to use to make them look at me.
