This account pictures a young man who associates with the wrong group, ending up as a drug user himself. Jordan’s experience illustrates how drug administration can have different effects on an individual. When he smoked crack through the copper pipe, he experienced a whole new impact from what he had been through before, which according to him it, “intensified the delivery” (Goode 96). The drug’s pharmacological properties consider the effect on an individual instead of group influence since the impacts are faced personally. In this context, I believe an aspect of psychopharmacology is at work, explaining the interaction of the body neurology with the drug substance, causing Jordan to experience hallucinations and paranoia. Users experience different effects depending on their tolerance and dosage; hence, the episodes and encounters are always dynamic and distinct. These incidents demonstrate the reason why a seasoned drinker drives better than an naive one under the influence. The experienced individual is in a better position to control his reactions and episodes under substance influence, unlike the inexperienced one who faces challenges. In this case, behavioral tolerance allows the drinker to behave in a way that minimizes the negative effect of the substance (Goode 94). I think Jordan had such a problematic experience because he took a larger dosage than his body would tolerate, which is a risky and detrimental move for any user.
