Decreasing Technology Use- Annotated Bibliography
In the modern world, people have become more connected than ever, thanks to rapid technological advancements. Technology has basically redefined everything in the current society, from how things are done to why they should be done that way. However, while some form of digital systems conveys positive societal changes, there are significant concerns about negative implications and overuse. In fact, as the society continues advancing in terms of technology, the serious ramifications of its use continue to be seen. Mobile devices and social platforms are linked to users' adverse physical and psychological issues, including difficulties focusing on important tasks. As the world struggles to adjust to the after effects of the coronavirus pandemic, overconsumption of technologies cannot go unnoticed, alerting potential impacts to children and young adults. As such, decreasing technology use is necessary to promote individuals' physical and mental well-being.
Decreasing Technology
The biggest harm caused by technology is overdependence or addiction on it. People are now so much addicted to technology that some cannot do without them. Dienlin and Niklas highlight the impact of technology on the mental wellbeing, especially on the growing population.

It would cost more, and take more resources to stop it once an individual is addicted to it, compared to finding ways to simply control it early enough. In line with the cliché that prevention is better than cure, it is imperative to control the amount of time that one is exposed to technological gadgets such as the phone. This calls for self-discipline in the case of adults, and strict parenting when it comes to kids and young adults. One needs to set aside time to simply be out of touch with their phones or gadgets, for some hours. Kids need to also have a limited time on the same, so that they can get out there and socialize, generate new ideas and perspectives about life.
Counterargument
There is need to increase technology use rather than decreasing it because it is the only way that one can remain on toes with the rapidly-changing technological environment. New inventions and advancements are being made on a daily basis, a clear call for constant update on the latest trends. This is especially so when it comes to matters about cybersecurity, online safety, current events around the wor...
