The internment of Japanese Americans during WWII violated several civil liberties. The FBI searched and seized people, violating their freedom from unreasonable searches and seizures. Although the people were detained, they were denied their right to be informed of the charges. Many homes of Japanese American were searched without warrants and sought items that were regarded as Japanese. When they forcefully removed from their homes, they were denied witnesses and help from legal counsel (Annebergclassroom.org, n.d.).
The Japanese Americans arrested through the FBI sweep did not get speedy trials as well as access to legal representation. They were never allowed to confront witnesses against them.
