In the movie The Matrix, Morpheus suggest that Mr. Anderson needs to take the rd pill and when he does he is later seen in a pod with wires attached to him and he is submerged in water. Mr. Anderson also called N3eo was unable to get out of the water and had to be lifted by machines and be resurrected. This symbolizes baptism as it is when he is immersed in the pod with fluid that he changes as though he was reborn as he was transformed from Thomas Anderson to Neo. Taking the blue pill does not change anything and everything goes back to normal, but taking the red pill and baptism are transformative as Neo and he begins a new life.
