Athena ends the conflict and violence in Ithaca and calls for peace and cooperation. Athena acts from the direction of her father, Zeus. She makes Ithacan forget the massacre of their children and recognize Odysseus as their king. This was after Odysseus murdered all the suitors betrothed to his wife, Penelope, while he was away. Athena pleaded and intervened with the men not to murder the fathers of the suitors. She managed to restore peace in Ithaca.
However, I don’t think Ithaca and Odysseus will continue to have peace in the future. The parents of the murdered suitor will hold a grudge against him and want to avenge the death of their sons. Thus, even if they appear to agree with Athena, Ithaca will be in chaos as long...
