It is indeed clear that Atwood was inspired by ‘The Odyssey’ when writing ‘The Penelopaid.’ This is because Margaret Atwood is a satirical revision of the Odyssey, a post-feminist and postmodern response to Homer's text and the influence of western culture. After reading the Odyssey, Margaret was interested in evaluating the role of Penelope as a wife and other. Two questions arose.
