What do historians mean by "The Age of Pericles"? What were the political and cultural achievements of this age?
One of the most prominent and well-known civilizations that existed in the history of mankind is Ancient Greece. For the most part, this civilization gave birth to different novel ideas and innovations as well as laid the foundation for the existence of our society. In this paper, I would talk about the success of Ancient Greece by discussing the so-called ‘Age of Pericles’. Accordingly, the subsequent section would highlight the different political and cultural achievements that were born during such age to show why it is one of the most notable ages in world history. All in all, I believe that the main reason for the success of the Ancient Greeks in establishing the modern-day society is due to the inception of the ‘Age of Pericles’.

When historians refer to the Age of Pericles, they are referring to the time when Ancient Athens was at the center of the Grecian society. During that time, Pericles was considered as one of the most innovative and dedicated statesmen that lobbied for reforms and changes in the cultural, economic, and political landscape of the era. This brought about significant leaps in terms of culture and governance that differentiated Athens from other civilizations of its time.
