Human Culture in Early Hominids
The phrase “human culture” can be used in association with the accomplishments of early Hominids up to an including Homo erectus because it played a significant role in the evolution and adaptation of human ancestors. Many social scientists and biologists have noted that the development of human culture prompted socio-cultural evolution to usurp biological evolution of early hominids. According to Wong et al. (47), human culture encompasses behaviors, ideas, and artifacts that can be learned and passed from one generation to another. During human evolution, the biological traits and culture of early hominids reinforced one another. For instance, the bipedalism of human ancestors freed their hands to enable them make and use tools. The ability to make and use tools stimulated the evolution of a larger brain. A bigger brain helped early humans become more inventive and intelligent to solve problems.
