Hundreds of thousands of African Americans served during the war. However, despite their significant contribution to war efforts, returning home still meant suffering aggression and discrimination. However, the victory in the warsaw African Americans recognizes their legitimacy in seeking equality, which increased the drive for greater civil rights after the war.
The wartime experiences of African Americans made them realize they were fighting a war abroad and at home.
