Among the roles that the public bureaucracy plays in the United States is the regulation of the various government activities in the country. It is mandated to ensure that the rules and regulations that shed light on how the laws are respected on a daily basis are created. The public bureaucracy is also responsible in overseeing that the relevant administrative functions of the government of the United States are adequately provided. The main functions are the issuance of permits and licenses, the collection of fees and conducting examinations among other issues. It has the responsibility of the handling of the day to day paperwork of the government of the day. The public bureaucracy is also responsible for the implementation of the policies and laws made by the elected officials. These public agencies ensure that the laws and policies once passed are put into practice and they are adhered to by all the citizens of the United States on a daily basis.
The challenges that the government bureaucracy face in the execution of their duties are enormous. It has always been used as a scapegoat for most of the economic and social ills that befalls the country. It is not given the due credit that it deserves. The general public believe that there is a lot of waste of the public resources in this institution. It has made the public bureaucracy to find difficulties on ways of improving the provision of services and the execution of their duties.
