The American Civil War
Even though the Revolution of 1776-1783 won the United States independence from the British, The American Civil War of 1861-1865 was key in determining up what kind of nation the United States of America would be years later.
It was not only caused by the agitation to dissolve the confederate states and reunite the seceded ones to the union, but also the need to abolish slavery and a proclamation to free the slaves, and have one unit that respect and treated everyone equally with dignity and liberty ( Calomiris et al.,1-23).
Slavery played was the key reason for a break out of the Civil War. It is recorded that while the Northern States, that also favored the union was against slavery, the Southern States, also known as Confederates were supporting slavery.
