People Should Not Be Vegetarian
A vegetarian is an individual who does not consume any product or by-product of animals such as meat, fish, poultry, shellfish, or game. Vegetarian diets are composed of vegetables, nuts, grains, pulses, seeds, and fruits. Individuals become vegetarians for different reasons, such as religion, ethics, health, and environmentalism (Kathleen, 6). According to the vegetarian society, there are diverse categories of vegetarians in the community. They include the Lacto ovo vegetarians; these persons do not consume the animal flesh but eat the eggs and dairy products. Secondly, the Lacto vegetarians, these people do not eat the eggs and the animal flesh, but they consume dairy products.
Thirdly, the ovo vegetarians, these individuals do not consume all the animal products expect the eggs (Kathleen, 6). Lastly, the vegans, these people do not eat all types of animal or animal by-products. According to research, in the United States, many vegetarians argue that eating meat causes several adverse effects such as deforestation, pollution, wastage of resources, and health problems (Morris, 8). They also claim that killing animals for food is unethical and cruel since vegetarian meals are plentiful in the environment. On the other hand, the opponents of the vegetarian diet argue that eating meats are healthful to human beings since they are rich in protein and other nutrients. Based on these arguments, nutritionist across the world supports the two groups for the different views but encourages them to balance the two products for better health results.
Globally, various groups of people, such as nutritionists, scientists, and researchers, have stepped out to encourage people to avoid being vegetarian. This is because being vegetarians denies people the chance to give their body all the required nutrients. Many vegetarians believe that eating meat is cruel and unethical (ProCon.org, 2). Hence, most of the nutritionists are encouraging people not to be vegetarians to fight the false belief. Vegetarians tend to hoist the significance of animal life above plant life, which is wrong. According to research, plants tend to react electrochemically to dangers; thus, they may feel fear as animals.
