Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome is a genetic disorder that affects the growth of a child's genitals and reproductive parts. Children with the condition tend to be genetically male, but with external appearances of a female. However, sometimes they show some external appearances that are between males and females (Gottlieb & Trifiro, 2017). Males with AIS do not respond to the male sex hormone testosterone, and this leads to undeveloped sexual genitals such as penis and undescended testicles. Most of the people who develop this condition are unable to have children, but they live a healthy and normal life. The genetic condition is passed to the children by their mothers.
