Given what we know about depression and about how effective these medications (which simply change the natural levels of neurotransmitters in the brain), do you think depression should be treated more like a physical disease than a behavioral issue?
Note that there are several SSRI chemicals and also one naturally occurring one: Saint John's Wort. Which do you think would be better to use and why?

Given
Given what we know about depression and the effectiveness of medications such as anti-depressant drugs, I think depression should be treated more like a behavioural problem than a physical issue because it is associated with behavioural problems such as social isolation, suicidal thoughts and behaviours, substance abuse, trouble with interpersonal relationships, irritability, restlessness, anxiety, hopelessness, and mood disorders. Therefore, from an individual perspective, depression is a psychological disorder associated more with behavioural problems than physical condition. As such, it should be treated more like a behavioural issue than a physical disease.
