I have selected Pigeon Forge for this writing project. This mountainous resort city is situated in the southeastern United States and has an approximate population of 6,000. I chose this place because of the advantages and disadvantages it offers to the tourists. I had never been to Pigeon Forge until December 2017. But earlier this year, one of my friends suggested me to go there and explore the beauty of this area. I packed my bags and reached there on February 2, 2018. I spent nearly 15 days in Pigeon Forge and recorded my own impressions, both positive and negative.
In the Smoky Mountains, the only way to get the value of my vacations was staying in a glorious log cabin. A large number of cabins are present at the top of the mountain. I could see several landscaped resorts too, so it was not a problem for me to find an affordable rental. The peaceful environment of this area, as well as its beauty, transformed my mood from a bad one into a good one. I had a chance to boost my confidence and escape from the day-to-day worries.
With nearly 750 square miles of wilderness and more than 800 miles of hiking trails, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park caught my attention in no time. I spent several hours there and closely explored the symmetrical arrangement of flowering plants and tall trees. Anyone would want to spend his entire life there, but it is obviously not possible because of the rules and regulations of this national treasure. Pigeon Forge is not only known for the Smoky Mountains and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, but also for its gift shops, music theaters, unique amusement rides and of course, Dollywood.
Dollywood is a small yet amazing theme park owned by Herschend Family Entertainment and Dolly Parton. It is situated in the Knoxville-Smoky Mountains and hosts over two million guests every year. During my time there, I got a chance to view traditional crafts and enjoy live music concert. I was told by a colleague that Dollywood has seen appearances of Parton and other artists. It is often considered the site of Hall of Fame and Southern Gospel Museum.
