Map A Conversation: Terrorism, World Peace and the New World Order

Essay Instructions:

Writing Exercise III: Map A Conversation
Purpose and Description
Joining a conversation is not always a simple task. As you have learned through previous assignments, it often requires us to listen, to ask questions, to research, to identify competing perspectives. It also requires us to take a position and add our own voice to the mix. Your aim in this assignment will be to take steps in this direction by 1) mapping out the conversation you have been researching, and 2) crafting the foundations of a novel argument. Please consider the following as you undertake this assignment.
Invention and Inquiry
Gather 3 new sources related to your topic;
Compose a brief summary of each source;
Undertake a preliminary analysis and make notes that you can refer to later;
Create a visual/concept map that represents the relationship between these sources and the two sources you analyzed in Major Paper II (for a total of 5 sources);
Briefly summarize your own argument, and add it to the visual map you have created.
The Composing Process
Compose a paragraph that describes the conversation you are joining;
Incorporate your map in a way that promotes readability and a clear design;
Compose a paragraph that explains how you plan to contribute something new and position yourself within an ongoing dialogue—essentially, how you plan to join the conversation.
Specific Requirements
Your paper should:
Gather new sources related to your research topic;
Summarize your sources;
Conduct a preliminary analysis of your sources;
Include a visual/concept map of the conversation as you have defined it;
Articulate and visualize your own position within the conversation/ map;
Include a title that reflects the spirit of the assignment;
Be approximately 1-2 pages in length (single-spaced, one-inch margins, 12 point Times New Roman or Garamond typeface);
Be uploaded to Canvas as a Word document by the deadline (consult your course syllabus and schedule for details).
As you transition into the final project for the course, it is important to reflect on the reading, writing, research, discussions, collaborations, and other activities that got you here. The next step, which you will carry out in Major Paper III, is to take a position and make an argument that demonstrates your ability to say something meaningful about your topic—and thereby join the conversation. Terrorism, World Peace and the New World Order
The widespread effects of terrorism experienced in the world today is beyond reasonable doubt one of the most dangerous occurrence in the world. Sadly, most of these activities are only directed towards a particular group of people. It is important to realize that terrorist activities are not necessarily linked to one group of people but anyone can be a terrorist despite their religious affiliation. For most people in the world, terrorist live in their homes, they share the same food with them and they even laugh with them without knowing that these people could be the perpetrators of the terrorism acts. The achievement of world peace is therefore made possible by the proper scrutiny of the people around us and the destruction of the stereotypes that exist. There exists different discussion about terrorism, the achievement of world peace and the New World Order. The main aim of this essay is to provide link between these conversations and provide a common ground for discussion about the same.
In an article by Robert J. Samuelson, the huge impact America has all over the world is widespread and this is attributed by the fact that globalization ensures that countries are united together and that there exists a perfect relationship in different countries. The United States is one of the biggest source of military power and the high living standards provides a basis for the huge influence America has on nations worldwide. Additionally, different countries experience a state of slow growth attributed to the slow economic growth in most countries worldwide. The representation of democracy in these countries is the main reason for the economic decline and the tremendous decline in the availability of jobs for learned citizens also influences the economy of a particular country.
With all these factors considered, the United States has made several efforts even after the Cold War to bring about international order that seeks to combine and make one system of government in the world today (Samuelson 3). The efforts are however thwarted by the fact that America is not the only nation that has a global influence. Other countries for instance China and Russia have a considerable amount of influence in the world and hold differing opinions with the United States. The decline in America’s influence is largely because of the leaders elected into power. The largest issue when it comes to fully transitioning to the New World Order is the adoption of new systems that will ensure that the transition is smooth. It is likely that this transition will result in chaotic instances that will be difficult to control.
According to Richard Moore, the global unity witnessed today is largely attributed to the technological advancements. The advancement has created both new sources of labor and improved capital for development. Coupled with the inability to control their own currencies, the centralization of power is much easier due to the control exerted by the centralization of wealth. The desire to transform the world by most world leaders creates a basis in which several projects may be dir...
