The moving speech, “Now is the time” by Leonardo DiCaprio at the United Nations, is an inspiring, informative and thought-provoking speech on climate change. The speech caught my attention due to the passionate, definite and informative way Leonardo passed the message on the need to prevent climate change. His utilization of present-day examples of the worst forms of pollution in different parts of the world such as industrial pollution in Beijing China, Floods in Miami and India, and melting of Arctic glaciers among others painted an adequate picture of the relevant problem, humanizing the issue and making it relatable (Goldcast). Additionally, the sighting of use of fossil fuels as the primary factor causing climate change and the need to change policies governing pollution coupled with people’s action as crucial solutions depicted the speech as adequately researched thereby meriting my inter...
