There is an element of satisfaction that is associated with going home to a house that one owns. Most of the families rent their homes for the rest of their lives. This is relative to the fact that, building or even buying their dream home is literally out of reach. With all the bills to pay, economic slumps and the fact that, owning a house is a really expensive affair, most families find it hard to own a home. As such, most of the families find themselves with the challenges that are insurmountable when it comes to owning a home. For those that get into the mortgage ownership programs, there is always a catch and millions of families have lost their homes and financing. The irony of the banking systems is that they trick their customers into the mortgage plans, they never disclose the full information, and it's only after the customers have committed that they disclose the details of the program. The bank repossess the houses kicking out the families and taking their money. With the stroke of a pen, they take away the dreams of a family breaking them apart and forcing them into economic situations that take years to get out of.
However, this is a problem that architecture can solve. The idea is not just to bring affordable housing to the people, but also to make sure that there are some element of styles to it. Ideally, affordable housing is a concept that is quite old; however, incorporating style to it leaves little room for profits.
